The Village of Michiana council authorized a $5,800 contract to clean, repair and restripe the municipal parking lot and the basketball court. The quote was presented by Street Superintendent Rick Reitz; Mike Botelho moved approval, Tim McCarthy seconded and the motion passed without objection.
Rick described the work as hot rubberized crack sealing and full restriping to address major cracks and wear. He also told council members that port-a-potties will be delivered May 1 and that staff will remove net cranks to reduce equipment loss at the courts. “We will have 2 port-a-pots delivered on May 1st,” Rick said, noting operations steps for the upcoming season.
Council documentation indicates the village will proceed with the vendor who provided the quoted amount. The expenditure was approved from operating funds as part of public-works maintenance; staff will report back when the work is scheduled.
