Michiana village hall renovation advances; lighting installed and fundraiser sales to support work

Council member Tim McCarthy updated the council on Village Hall renovations, saying the committee has staged seating near the fireplace and the new lighting and fans will be installed the week of Sept. 16. McCarthy said fixtures were purchased with funds raised from the House Walk and that wagon-wheel lighting units are being sold for $150 each; four units have sold and eight remain.
McCarthy said the goal is to create a community center where residents can use the Village Hall during office hours for Wi‑Fi, reading or socializing. The council will continue to sell Michiana poster prints and apply proceeds to the renovation fund.
