Water department: hydrant flushing, EPA project plan and planned pump installation
Summary
Council heard that daily water testing has been submitted to EGLE, hydrant flushing will continue for weeks, a Project Plan will go to the EPA and bids will follow, and a new pump is ready with installation planned for November.
Council member Mike Mumper reported Oct. 11 that village staff are working with contractor Down to Earth on a new park irrigation system and that daily water testing results have been submitted to the Michigan EGLE. He said crews will be flushing hydrants for the next couple of weeks and that Merritt is preparing a Project Plan that will be forwarded to the EPA for review, after which bids will be assembled.
Mumper noted a new pump is on site and staff plan to install it in November; Rick Reitz said installation timing would minimize resident inconvenience because the system would be run on a single pump during the swap. Mumper said another water meeting will be announced in November.
