Cloud Lake to join county in Resilient Florida vulnerability assessment; Tetra Tech contracted

Cloud Lake will join nine other small municipalities and Palm Beach County in a Resilient Florida grant application; the County has contracted Tetra Tech to do assessments and a consultant will brief the council in March or April.
Council was told that Florida law enacted in 2021 requires counties and municipalities to complete a Vulnerability Assessment and that Palm Beach County will submit a Resilient Florida grant application to fund assessments for ten small municipalities including Cloud Lake. A steering committee will be established, meet monthly, and the program requires two public outreach events plus two presentations before the council.
The County has contracted Tetra Tech to perform the assessments for the participating municipalities. Council members were told a consultant is expected to present program details at the March or April meeting and to outline what the town will need to provide for the grant application and assessment process.
