Robinson described a design for affordable rentals and a daycare on the five-acre parcel the town received in a trade with South 32. "We will put 5 units with 10 houses in it," he said, describing a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom rental units arranged with shared outdoor space, a gazebo and play area.
Robinson said the daycare concept drawings (birth-to-5) will be presented at a public hearing to solicit local feedback. Council members and residents asked whether the housing would be sustainable and energy-efficient; Robinson said sustainability features could be incorporated during the design phase and that the town would manage the rentals similarly to existing senior apartments.
