During public hearings on June 4 the Ashland City Council postponed action on several alleged nuisance properties to allow owners more time or to receive further staff reports. The council voted unanimously to postpone Resolution 2026-4 (1526 Ash Street) to July 16; to postpone Resolution 2026-6 (602 Birch Street) to July 16; to postpone Resolution 2026-7 (568 Ashland Road) to August 20; and to postpone Resolution 2026-8 (PT TR 2 & 3 & PT NW SE 11-12-9) to July 16 with a directive that the Zoning Administrator provide a plan to address the building.
At the 1526 Ash Street hearing, owner Mike Alger presented photos, said he holds an active building permit, is removing material gradually and intends to remove an extra truck and the boat. At 602 Birch Street, Dean Fedde told the council he lives in the house, has purchased scaffolding and intends to complete work after farming season, estimating completion by the end of November and saying he has not obtained contractor quotes. Attorney John Paul Svec representing the owner of 568 Ashland Road said progress has been made following a fire and estimated construction completion in 2–3 months; he also said a camper on the site would be licensed and Conex boxes would be removed when work is finished. Diane and Nick Rose described cleanup and a plan to repair, rebuild or tear down the shop structure by the end of February for the property listed as PT TR 2 & 3 & PT NW SE 11-12-9.
The council left specific compliance deadlines and abatement actions for future meetings where staff reports and property-specific plans will be available.
