The RDA's executive director said staff received submissions for redeveloping the Washington School site and will recommend First Place Homes (referred to in the meeting as Bob's group) for selection to the City Council, likely during the first week of September. Staff are negotiating the development agreement with the group and expect to take the recommendation to council once language is finalized.
"We did receive submissions, and we will be recommending 1st Place Homes, which is Bob's group, for selection to councilor soon, most likely the 1st week in September," the executive director said. The director added staff are negotiating terms and reviewing language because the developer is already familiar with RDA terms from a prior lot purchase and staff see no major issues.
The director also noted Habitat has approved plans for three of four lots it purchased and is moving forward with construction on those parcels.
