Teacher announces resignation at Dufur SD meeting, says investigation excluded her perspective

"I do not feel that any of this was handled with those ideals," the staff member told the board, saying mediation was "obviously lacking." She said the situation had worsened since mid-March and that conversations about her program had proceeded without inviting her input. The speaker asked the board to consider whether matters could have been resolved at a lower level before escalating to a formal investigation.

The chair acknowledged the resignation and said the board would recognize the vacancy and follow its established process. No personnel findings or disciplinary actions were announced during the meeting; the speaker described the decision as personal and based on sleepless nights and reflection. The board moved and voted to open the vacancy and follow district procedure for filling it.
