The commission voted to present a proposal to city council requesting permission for Depoe Bay to be represented in the Glen Eden July parade. Commissioners discussed possible entries — a decorated pickup truck, a float, or towing a small trailer — and possible handouts for parade attendees. After the motion was moved and seconded, staff recorded the commission's vote and will present the proposal to council.
Staff reminded the commission that the council will want to know how much budget support and staff resources the commission will request. "You need to figure out what your ask is from the crew, you're asking the staff or crew of the city to do anything, you'll need to figure that out as soon as possible," staff said. The commission agreed to form a short-term planning group and to hold a work session in early June to finalize details before the council presentation.
