Organizers considered purchasing large inflatable whales but ruled them out for the July 4 timeline and cost. "Most of the things come from China'...if we were to get something here in the States, they could get it to us in time, but we're talking about 6 to $8,000," Committee member (S2) said. Given that, the group agreed to prioritize banners, inflatable-style handheld decorations and whale costumes that can be purchased or assembled quickly.
Volunteers assigned tasks and timelines: Gina and Ellie will work on costume construction, S2 will coordinate truck and stage timing with Brady, and the group agreed to meet at a volunteer work session the night before to finish float decoration. The meeting closed with a plan to finalize banner proofs and order materials after staff confirms available budget.
