American Canyon proclaims Parks and Recreation Month and honors Recreation Manager Alana Benn

"My name is Alana Benn. I am your recreation manager," Benn said after accepting the proclamation, thanking her staff and describing how the department’s work reaches children, families and older adults. Benn told the council she has accepted a job with Redwood City and that "my last day is next week." The council and several residents rose to applaud and took an official photograph with the Parks & Recreation team.
The mayor and council spotlighted the department’s year‑round programs and learn‑to‑swim and life‑saving trainings included in the proclamation. The city recorded the proclamation and the department’s short video in the meeting record; staff said those presentation materials will be included in the official minutes and the meeting YouTube video.
