City administrator reports Brownfields grant kickoff, USDA sewer grant work and warns residents about service-line letters

City Administrator Lisa Kotter briefed the Red Oak City Council on several administrative items at the July 7 meeting. Kotter said a Brownfields Grant Kickoff event is scheduled for July 30; staff continue work with engineering firm JEO on floodplain mapping and a new GIS zoning map is underway. Clerk Ashley Wilson is preparing a USDA grant application related to sewer work.
Kotter also reminded residents to sign up for e-billing and addressed recent mailings about water service line insurance, stating that the "water service line insurance letters sent — they are legitimate and not connected with city utilities." She noted the city is also working with Acorn Acres and the Planning and Zoning Commission on nine lots, and that utility bills are now being sent using a new mailing service.
