Jeanice Lester was sworn in immediately after the council adopted the resolution. The appointment replaces the previous Ward I seat and gives Lester full voting privileges for subsequent agenda items, including votes taken later that evening on infrastructure bids, nuisance ordinances and contract approvals. The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for July 21, 2025.
