Council certifies Pennington County tax-levy estimate on first reading

Finance Officer Renee Baker explained the same certification process as the prior item, noting the Pennington County figure for 2026. “For 2026, our estimated maximum tax dollars available to us from Pennington County will be $2,681,727,” Baker said, adding that the dollars flow into the general fund for operations.
Councilmember Schubert moved to approve ordinance 777 on its first reading; the council approved the motion by roll call. Baker said budget amendments and related ordinances will be presented alongside the full budget ordinance at a subsequent meeting.
