During the superintendent’s report the district updated the board on several operational items ahead of the 2026‑27 school year.
Staff reported enrollment remains at or below class‑size guidelines across elementary schools and that the district added an additional middle‑school extended science section after a summer review of qualifiers. The superintendent announced a minor transcript display change—official transcripts will visually display whole letter grades beginning this year; that change will be visible starting Aug. 1.
Construction updates included installation of a main waterline, excavation and regrading to provide accessible ground‑level entrances on the east side of the high school, and scheduled paving and re‑striping of parking lots in the coming weeks. The district said interior work will continue but remains scheduled for readiness by the start of school.
The superintendent also highlighted a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club: the new Woodlands Teen Impact Center, a 40,000‑square‑foot facility serving secondary students, will do a soft opening Aug. 11 and a grand opening celebration Sept. 10. Board members were invited to attend the grand opening.
Finally, staff confirmed emergency messaging and communications tests via ParentSquare planned for Aug. 12 and posted timelines for classroom assignments and schedules (elementary teacher assignments Aug. 6; middle/high school schedules Aug. 7). No board action was required for these informational updates.
