The Special Magistrate entered an order May 21 finding that violations persist at 880 E Alfred St., listed as property of Polk County Development LLC, and certified fines of $3,000 plus administrative costs of $51.27.
Code Enforcement Officer Carl Watson told the magistrate that “much progress has been made on this case, and the property owners expect to complete the necessary work within the next few weeks.” City Attorney Seth Claytor asked for clarification of a scrivener’s error on the Notice of Hearing; the record notes that “the mailing date at the top left of the document should read May 7, 2026.”
Mr. David Simmonds, identified in the record as owner and partner of the property, asked for a couple of weeks to finish the work; the Code Enforcement Officer instructed him to contact the Code Enforcement office after completion so staff can conduct a site visit and take time-stamped photographs. The magistrate entered an order finding violations and certifying the fines and administrative costs, payable within 30 days.
