The School Zone Speed Enforcement Special Magistrate, presiding over hearings in Lake Alfred on May 21, 2026, found multiple violations and imposed fines. Special Magistrate Mawhinney upheld violations in several Notices of Violation—including LA10070135, LA10087803, LA10089139, LA10084017, LA10085607, LA10082793, LA10084754, LA10084917, LA10086053, LA10083353, and LA10086350—each with a $100 fine and a $50 administrative fee where noted; some fines were payable within 14 days and others within 30 days according to the magistrate’s rulings.
City staff (Deputy Chief Larry Holden) presented 2-second video evidence in each contested case and explained that unpaid notices may be converted into Uniform Traffic Citations (UTC) with the right to appeal.
