The board reviewed several IT-related procurement items tied to security and infrastructure.
The business administrator said the district is purchasing 50 network switches now with an E-rate reimbursement that covers 50% of the eligible cost; roughly 250 switches exist districtwide and replacements will be phased on a rotation. "This is the max we can get for this type of purchase through the E-rate program," he said.
Board members also discussed a proposed contract for Wiser Boost, a cybersecurity awareness and training product from Wiser Inc. Administration said the product is intended to reduce cyber risk, improve staff practices and support insurance requirements. For security reasons, administration scheduled a closed-session cybersecurity presentation for the next board meeting.
