Mr. Whitehead presented the transportation report, noting bus and van issues but that most repairs were covered by warranties or recalls and that routes are covered with a few substitute drivers on hand. Superintendent Michael Brown reported that the fire suppression system work is ahead of schedule, summer cleaning and maintenance are underway, and that a high-school sign will be paid for by a Bud Jorgenson donation.
The board approved updated policies 203, 206.03, 701.2, 701.03 and 701.05 (motion by Director Teresa Graham; second by Vice President Justin Travis; motion carried 4 ayes to 0 nays). The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with Iowa Western and voted to participate in the Voluntary Iowa RSVP program for the elementary school.
