Sara Tuthill, Secretary of the Broad Brook Cemetery Association, told the Selectboard she is concerned about trees along the cemetery boundary with large limbs overhanging gravesites and management of adjacent hayfields. She also reported vehicles have struck the cemetery fence perpendicular to River Road and requested consideration of improved signage at the Broad Brook Road and River Road T-junction.
Town Administrator Nicola Shipman said authority over the trees may fall to the Tree Warden if they are municipal shade trees, and the board thanked Sara and said additional review is required before determining next steps. The board did not make a binding decision at this meeting but noted that the Highway Department could assist with paver replacement at the Baxter Memorial Library where needed and discussed responsibilities for tree oversight and public-right-of-way hazards elsewhere in the meeting.
