Committee raises privacy and cybersecurity questions about high-resolution imagery

"Is there any ... privacy concerns ... that is addressed through some of the federal, I guess, best practices?" Representative Cook asked. Susan agreed the concern is valid and said earlier state deliberations deferred to federal guidance on UAVs; she added that the office would work closely with the Georgia Technology Authority so any systems would be governed by existing state cybersecurity policies.
Committee members also discussed how highly accurate data could reduce erroneous assessments (Susan gave a light example about distinguishing a mobile chicken coop). The committee asked for clear cybersecurity and privacy safeguards as the program is developed.
