Moab council adopts FY2026–27 final budget after public hearing, 4–2–1

Following a public hearing on the proposed fiscal‑year budget, the council voted to adopt resolution O4‑2026, setting the certified tax rate and approving the final FY 2026–27 budget. City Manager Michael told the council that taxes were performing strongly and that staff had used actuals for the year to project a 3.5% increase that underlies next year’s revenue estimates.
Toni moved to adopt the resolution and Jason seconded; the council adopted the budget in a roll call vote. The motion passed with a recorded result described in the meeting as “motion passes 4 2 1 with Caitlin in opposition.” During the hearing several councilors asked for clearer public presentation of how different fund transfers (property tax, RAP tax, and enterprise transfers) would be used; staff said they will clarify those transfers in follow-up materials.
