Stellantis’ Jeep brand presented a corporate-sponsorship proposal to the Moab City Council that would formalize a long-standing relationship with the town and supply direct financial and in-kind support. Michael, the city manager, said the single RFP response offered “a cash amount every year of a $145,000” that would be unrestricted and go to the city general fund, plus loaned vehicles and programmatic support.
Jeep representatives said the partnership would extend beyond cash. “Our brand loves this place. Our people love this place,” said Nate Ewell, a Jeep marketing lead, explaining the company’s interest in promoting Moab through multiple media channels. City staff outlined other elements in the proposal: up to five Jeep-brand vehicles on loan for the contract term; sponsorship of two city-selected community events annually; social-media coordination; and two professionally produced promotional videos each year that Jeep estimated would amount to very large media exposure (staff noted an estimated media reach figure provided by Jeep of about $11.3 million annually).
Councilors expressed broad appreciation for Jeep’s local ties and stewardship work but emphasized caution about contract terms. Michael said the city would not decide tonight and expected at least a month for legal review and contract negotiations before a council consideration. Staff requested input on desired details and asked councilors to submit negotiation priorities ahead of the drafting process.
