Carlin Municipal Court Clerk Brandy Holbrook presented the council with an annual informational letter explaining administrative and building fees collected from citations and fines under Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 176. Holbrook said she is monitoring technology needs and saving funds rather than spending them immediately so money will be available for future upgrades to court technology and facilities.
Holbrook explained the court runs a monthly report on the fifth of each month to remit appropriate funds to the state and county and to allocate local building and administrative funds for allowable uses. She told the council she requested guidance and the informational letter from the Nevada Supreme Court to clarify statutory origins of the fees and how they must be used. Mayor Kinney indicated no action was required by the council at the meeting.
