Council authorizes abatement of 506 Camp Street after owner fails to comply

Braithwaite explained the process: after abatement, the council would later adopt a resolution establishing a lien that would be recorded at the county; property taxes provide a way to collect; if unpaid, foreclosure procedures (30-day notice to lien holders and a 90-day waiting period before sale) could follow.
Councilmember Denise Taylor and resident Ella Trujillo urged careful consideration of costs and precedence; Taylor noted public-safety and access concerns tied to junk in alleyways. Joel Nalley moved to approve abatement and use funds from GL 10-79-958; Denise Taylor seconded. The council voted unanimously to authorize abatement.
