Kevin Cooper, the village's supervisor of code enforcement, gave a monthly public-safety and welfare update at the July 22 meeting, listing enforcement activity and outcomes. He told the trustees the office received 12 online complaints in July (8 anonymous), opened 19 new investigations and issued 11 notices of violation and one field appearance ticket; "Thus far, up to the 22nd of this month, we've issued 864 parking tickets," Cooper said.
Trustees pressed Cooper on remediation for a commercial yard cited under the village's new littering rule; Cooper said the property owner had contracted with subcontractors to sweep the street twice daily and was looking into a wash-down truck. Trustees suggested industry controls used at larger facilities, such as FOD pads and undercarriage washing, and asked staff to follow up and report on implementation.
