Members then questioned whether the $15,000,000 for childcare that had been discussed during committee consideration was included; Representative (floor member) said that the earlier testimony indicated a need of as much as $40,000,000. The chair responded that the $15,000,000 was not in the first‑house action and that the department director had not offered a specific plan in their conversations.
The amendment was adopted by voice vote and the bill moved to final passage; the clerk later recorded the final machine vote in favor.
