State DOT initiative may add all-way stops near Chocorua; Tamworth Village four-way stop under consideration

At the board's March 25 meeting, Selectboard representative Lianne Prentice reported that a New Hampshire Department of Transportation initiative could add two all-way stop locations near Chocorua — one at the intersection of Route 16 and Route 113 and another at the bottom of Page Hill and the intersecting roads. She said the state will post the data on the town website and hold a public hearing to collect feedback.
Prentice added that a four-way stop in Tamworth Village is also being considered as part of broader discussions about traffic and parking in the village. Board member Matt Dunn cautioned members to watch for unintended effects, citing what happened in North Conway when the North–South road was installed. The next Selectboard meeting on the topic is April 14; residents were encouraged to join the Selectboard meeting and provide feedback.
