The council received a report from the library: October door traffic was up 38% year-over-year and October circulation was up 45% from the previous year; year-to-date circulation (January through October) was up 21%. The library has hired a new part-time employee to start Nov. 17 and completed landscaping and bathroom repairs; staff said they will present budget requests to the council in late January.
Recreation committee members reported that the girls' 3rd/4th-grade team and the boys' 7th/8th-grade team won recent championships, and reminded residents the annual tree-lighting is set for Dec. 5 at 6:45 p.m., with the fire department escorting Santa. The council thanked volunteers and noted senior events and ongoing DPW and fire department updates.
