The Borough of Old Tappan mayor and council unanimously adopted a consent resolution that bundled routine administrative items, including bills and claims, transfers of 2025 appropriations, updated assessment billing and several interlocal or service agreements.
Council President Boyce introduced the package as items previously reviewed and placed on the consent agenda. During discussion, a council member asked why the animal-control contract was presented in December rather than during the normal budget cycle. "It's for January," the contract manager replied, noting the contract term runs Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 and that the increase was small. Council members said they had not received complaints about animal-control services.
The council moved and seconded the consent resolution and recorded an affirmative roll call. The council then proceeded to new business, beginning with first readings of two ordinances.
