The City of Wilmont City Council approved moving forward with a crack‑sealing contract with Bargen Inc., provided the contractor’s updated estimate does not exceed $40,000.
Brandon Green of Bargen Inc. presented the scope—crack repair, mastic gap repairs and optional infrared patching—and council members compared Bargen’s bid to a competing estimate. On a motion by Tom Slater, seconded by Carolyn Penning, the council voted to accept Bargen if Amber Bertrand, the city clerk, verifies the final price is below the $40,000 cap. Bertrand will request an updated estimate; Bargen may begin work when available and after the revised estimate meets the cap.
