Avon commission: 66 home energy assessments complete; NESE offering free assessments through June

Assistant Town Manager Grace Tiezzi reported to the Avon Sustainability Commission that the Energize CT Home Energy Solutions program has completed 66 home energy assessments, with 18 additional assessments scheduled and 10 new leads in the pipeline. She told commissioners that New England Sustainable Energy (NESE) will offer free assessments to residents who register by March 31 and complete their assessment by June 30.
Tiezzi said NESE will prepare social media content for the Town to share and that she will hold quarterly coordination meetings with NESE’s relationship manager to improve outreach. Commissioners discussed marketing ideas and coordinating the program with the Energize CT Small Business Energy Advantage program and heat pump education. Commissioner Michael Dawson provided additional information regarding Eversource’s role in related programs and incentives.
