The Tree & Landscape Board discussed scheduling a lecture series for 2026–27 aimed at increasing public engagement and attendance at planting events. Ginny Powell said Extension Arborist John Roberts is unavailable in May, and the Board tentatively agreed to schedule speakers in January, March and May 2027 because "those months would be good as it would not be too hot at those times," the Board noted.
Board members suggested topics such as landscape design, trees and ground covers, butterfly and pollinator gardening, sustainable yards for South Florida, native plants and best irrigation practices. The Board also discussed timing speakers just prior to scheduled tree giveaways to help ensure stronger turnout and community participation.
