Committee approves one operators' license, denies another after charged cases noted

The Committee reviewed two 2026–2027 operator license applications during the June 24 meeting. Melaya Sexton’s background check revealed charged and pending cases, and the Committee judged the charged cases alone to be sufficient grounds to deny her application.
Brenda Staszak moved and Matt Pleshek seconded the recommendation to approve Diamond and deny Sexton. The roll-call vote was recorded as Court—Aye, Falk—Aye, Gehm—Aye, Pleshek—Aye, Staszak—Aye, Streetman—Aye and Zuleger—Nay; the motion carried. The Committee's action is a recommendation from Committee of the Whole; any final licensing action will follow the village's licensing procedures.
