The council approved the purchase of a tracked vehicle for the fire department from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for $16,000.
Mayor B. Schmiedeberg told the council the military would be taking a tracked vehicle back from the fire department and that a replacement was available from the DNR for $16,000. Clarence (Skip) Strom moved to purchase the vehicle and Tatum Carlson seconded; the motion carried with all members in favor.
The minutes record the purchase authorization but do not detail financing sources for the acquisition beyond discussion that auction proceeds from other equipment were available; the council also noted the New Holland tractor the city recently auctioned brought $38,785.00.
