A Chamber representative presented a proposal to use hay-bale displays and decorated T‑posts to draw visitors downtown and boost participation in fall events.
The presenter said businesses could decorate hay-bale displays and that hay bales had been donated; the project would need roughly 30 T‑posts (7–8 feet tall) to support the decorations. "What she's witnessed at her own town is people, walking up and down, taking pictures... and, of course, get people to circulate in town," the presenter said, describing the hoped-for tourist effect.
The presenter also reviewed upcoming Chamber events: an Oct. 2 annual dinner (tickets $20) and an Oct. 18 wine festival, and said the Chamber planned advertising and a prizes program that will award two $500 "Better Your Business" awards at the dinner. Council and staff discussed whether T‑posts could be replaced by mounting decorations on existing light poles and asked staff to consult the town office about feasibility and safety.
