Staff presented three quotes for audio, sound and livestream capabilities for the meeting room. Two vendors visited the space and produced site-specific quotes; a third lower quote was from a vendor who did not visit. One staff member said the higher quotes (roughly $50,000–$90,000) were in the same range as prior projects.
Trustees prioritized inexpensive fixes for poor audio and a basic livestream option. "I really think we should fix these two problems, audio and live streaming. Even if it's a poor man's live streaming, let's just get it done," the Chair said. Staff recommended going back to the two vendors that provided site-verified quotes to ask what minimal scope would resolve audio reverberation and add livestream capability. A motion to refer the AV improvements to the finance committee so they can be considered in budget planning carried.
