TDOT explains on-call use, PMC overlap and choice-lane separation under new GC procurement

Vendors asked how the new general consultant contracts will interact with existing on-calls, the Program Management Contractor (PMC), and choice-lane work. TDOT staff said specialty on-call advertisements will remain an option, and the department will decide case-by-case whether to use the broad GC or a specialized on-call for a given need.
On the PMC role, the Agency official said the PMC is more integrated on all-delivery and public-private (P3) work and less involved on traditional delivery; PMC involvement will depend on the nature of each work order. On choice lanes, staff said that any work specific to choice lanes will either be handled by the current contract or by the new advertised contract depending on the project. The staffer urged proposers to coordinate with divisions for questions about specialty scopes and posting of subs sign-in sheets on the professional services webpage.
