Council moves to submit tax budget, seeks renewal and new levies for streets and police

Council then read two separate resolutions seeking auditor certification under Ohio Revised Code §5705.03: Resolution 2026-51 requests a renewal levy of 1.5 mills for five years to fund streets, roads and bridges; Resolution 2026-52 requests a new/additional levy of 1.99 mills for five years for the Police Department.
Each resolution was advanced as an emergency measure: Council Member Macchia moved to waive the three-reading rule, Council President Caudill seconded, and roll-call votes were unanimous. The resolutions request certification only; they initiate the process of placing levies before voters (or otherwise completing certification steps) and do not by themselves impose taxes.
