Parent urges Georgetown County School District to publish school-level budgets

Jessica Wooster, speaking as a parent of students at Waccamaw Middle School and Waccamaw High School, urged the Georgetown County School District board to publish a line-item budget for each school so the public can see school-level allocations. "We'd like to see a line item budget so we know how much each school is getting, from the district budget," Wooster said.
Wooster said the Waccamaw Neck schools receive lower per-pupil spending from local funds and asked the board to provide transparency so parents and community members can compare expenditures. The board did not take action in response to the comment during the meeting; public comment concluded before the board moved to routine agenda business.
