The board heard an athletics update July 16 in which Superintendent Gerrett Spears summarized fundraising and upcoming youth activities.
Spears said the Summer Pride fundraising letters received "a great response" and described culture‑building efforts for boys' and girls' teams, including team retreats in August and September. He outlined a Skills & Drills program for students in grades 1–6 on several dates in August, September and October, with sessions running 3:30–4:00 p.m.; students who participate will perform at halftime of the first home game on Nov. 7.
Spears also said he plans a Skills and Drills track to help younger students develop fundamentals ahead of competition seasons.
