The Burlington Public Schools Board of Education approved July 16 a motion authorizing up to $5,000 from the district building fund to complete updates and repairs at the district-owned rental house at 408 Main Street.
Board President Terry Graham made the motion to approve costs up to $5,000 for repairs including carpet cleaning, painting, screen-door replacement and yard maintenance; April Kisling seconded and the motion passed 4–0 (Robert Hill absent). The board noted quotes for the work had been requested but not yet received.
Superintendent Spears described tenant movement tied to an unexpected vacancy in another district house and said the repairs were necessary to ready 408 Main for occupancy.
