Under agenda item 12 the board approved leaves of absence for multiple employees (dates and medical/personal reasons shown in the minutes), the retirement of Calvin Bolton (teacher at Canton High School, effective July 1, 2025), and a long list of resignations effective primarily June 2, 2025. The board also approved reassignments within maintenance and custodial staff and recommended hires across schools and the Canton Career Center, many with employment periods commencing August 1, 2025 and ending June 2, 2026.
Examples of hires include classroom teachers, an interventionalist and counselors (some pending certification). Reassignments included a movement of a maintenance worker to an interim maintenance supervisor position and a maintenance worker reassigned to a school resource officer role. The motion to approve items 12.1–12.54 was made by Mr. Peter Brown and seconded by Mr. Lenderrick Taylor and passed unanimously.
The minutes list names, roles, effective dates, and reasons where provided; the board approved the slate as a single motion covering all personnel items listed in the exhibit.
