At the March 18 meeting the board approved the bulk consent agenda covering items 11.1–11.15, excluding item 11.3 during the first vote. Consent items include: purchasing three new buses from Empire Truck Sales not to exceed $400,000 (11.1); approving the Canton Public School District 2025–26 academic calendar (11.2); multiple travel and conference approvals for staff (11.4–11.8); authorization to pay G&S Holdings for bus repair not to exceed $11,000 (11.9); Mayhew Electric Company to perform electrical updates for Nichols Middle School cafeteria not to exceed $50,000 (11.10); depositing $30,000 into Dragonfly Athletics LLC for game officials and MHSAA dues/fees (11.11); purchasing the EDPlan special education module from Public Consulting Group for 2025–26 not to exceed $11,000 (11.14); and purchasing 2024 State Championship Track Team rings not to exceed $10,000 (11.15).
The board initially set aside item 11.3 (staff recommendation) from the package, then after Mr. Johnny Brown temporarily exited the room the trustees voted to approve item 11.3. The motion to approve the remaining consent items was made by Peter Brown and seconded by Glen Lacey; votes were recorded as Aye from trustees on the final approval.
