Canton board elects Glen Lacey as secretary, keeps chair and vice-chair in place

The Canton Public School District Board of Trustees elected Mr. Glen Lacey to serve as board secretary on April 15, 2025 after a motion by Mr. Peter Brown that was seconded by Mr. Lenderrick Taylor. The board also voted to keep Mr. Johnny Brown as chair and Mr. Lenderrick Taylor as vice-chair.
The motions were procedural but determine administrative continuity for the district. According to the minutes, Mr. Peter Brown moved “to elect Mr. Glen Lacey as secretary,” and the trustees recorded Aye votes from all members. A separate motion by Mr. Peter Brown to keep the chairman and vice chairman unchanged was similarly adopted with unanimous support.
Trustees completed the housekeeping votes early in the meeting before moving to the regular agenda items and reports from the superintendent and finance staff.
