Several community members spoke during the public-comment portion of the Canton Public School District Board meeting on March 18, 2025. Melvin Gillum urged the board to name the gymnasium floor after Lewis Love; Mr. Hosea Anderson raised issues at Canton High School; and Vernetha Anderson offered free tutoring services to the community.
Following public comment, Victoria Johnson presented awards including parent of the year, student, teacher and staff of the month, and recognized Canton High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams.
