Board signs off on $1.8M in general-fund encumbrances and building bond warrants

The Burlington Public Schools Board approved multiple fund encumbrances and warrants as presented Aug. 26, including General Fund encumbrances of $1,835,344.39, General Fund change orders totaling ($122,264.62) and General Fund warrants of $247,236.47. Building Bonds of 2025 encumbrances and warrants were each listed at $1,322,448.00.
Robert Hill made the motion to approve the encumbrances (item 10) and Lindsey Callison seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Board members said they will continue to monitor monthly expenditures and noted the building fund is currently shouldering some costs to relieve pressure on the general fund.
