Property owner and Wake Island VFW volunteer Ruth Jaytanie described contractor delays and interim repairs to the front wall at 125 S. Main St.; City Inspector Ronny Capps and councilmembers recommended additional time for repairs. The council continued the abatement item for 125 S. Main to the Nov. 18, 2024 meeting to allow work to proceed.
Later in the meeting, the council returned to agenda item 18 and adopted a resolution to abate conditions at 203 W. 10th Ave. (owner Michael W. Fabas) for weeds, grass, trash and debris (Resolution R1412-091624). Two other abatement cost resolutions (for 620 E. 6th Ave. and 628 E. 5th Ave.) were approved on the consent agenda earlier in the meeting.
