Bristow adopts memorial-placement and open-burning ordinances, declares emergencies
Summary
The council adopted Ordinance No. 195 (memorial placement in parks) and Ordinance No. 196 (amending open-burning rules to establish permits), and declared emergencies for both ordinances on Sept. 16.
The council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance No. 195-091624, which adds Section 24-32 to the Bristow Code of Ordinances to establish criteria for placement of memorials in parks, and immediately declared an emergency to enact the ordinance. The action passed on a roll call vote with all present members voting yes.
The council then adopted Ordinance No. 196-091624 amending Chapter 24 (public safety, fire prevention) to prohibit open burning except by permit and to set criteria for permit issuance; the council again declared an emergency so the ordinance would take immediate effect. Both ordinances were approved without recorded dissent.
