Canton board approves personnel leaves, resignations, reassignments and hires

The Canton Public School District Board approved a comprehensive set of personnel actions (items 12.1—12.38) including leaves of absence for multiple employees, several resignations and retirements (for example, Adrienne Parker retiring effective June 2, 2025; Shalondia Washington retiring effective June 30, 2025), reassignments and recommended hires across district schools and the Canton Career Center. The board approved the package on a motion by Mr. Glen Lacey seconded by Mr. Lenderrick Taylor with the exception of item 12.34 (hire of Dameon Brown) which was approved later after Mr. Peter Brown left the room; the subsequent roll call shows Mr. Brown listed as absent for that vote.
The personnel slate lists effective dates and replacements where applicable (for example, Adrienna Williams recommended to replace Andrea McDaniel pending certification; Cedric Shavers reassigned from School Resource Officer to Maintenance Worker).
